I am pleased to announce a new repeater put up by our District Three
DEC, Chuck KX7ID and crew. The new dedicated ARES VHF repeater is
serving Southwest Idaho. The system will be dedicated to District 3
ARES membership, ARES nets, ARES public service, and ARES public safety
community support activities.
Details:
· 147.3800MHz+ DCS 174
· Squaw Butte ~5600'
· Coverage throughout Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, Meridian,
Emmett, and surrounding areas.
· Full commercial grade construction
· Open
· Backup battery power soon
· Echolink before winter
· Link to my UHF system next year
They have coordinated this system as an open repeater but all ARES
activities will take priority over any general use.
This repeater is not sponsored or associated with any other ham club.
It was designed, built, and installed as a team in coordination with
Ada County EC Brian Adams, Canyon County EC Russ Dunn, and an ARES
supporter and close friend Carl Sorensen NB7C.
They have notified the ARES membership team and we are working to get
every ARES member programmed up and on the system soon. Dedicated
weekly ARES nets will start in September, day of the week and time TBD.
